Senior Network Security Engineer Position

Hi all,

UCSD is looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer with expertise in firewall, VPN, NIDS/NIPS, SIEM, application 
proxies, load balancers, etc. The position is responsible for designing, deploying and managing the core campus network 
security infrastructure. We have a number of major projects lined up for this year, including the design and deployment 
of a campus-wide network firewall infrastructure as well as VPN, SIEM and DDOS deployments.

UCSD is one of the largest networks in San Diego at around 100,000 nodes and the environment offers exposure to a wide 
variety of technology, expertise, resources, and threats/challenges. Our Security team has recently undergone a 
reorganization and has added new talent and resources that have us well-positioned to elevate the security program at 
UCSD. We are located in beautiful La Jolla in the heart of San Diego, where average highs range from the upper 70's in
