I do not have our numbers, but I do have a curveball to throw into any DMCA conversation:

Big win for those of us who love fair use!

If you read the concurring opinion, at least one judge calls into question the legitimacy of automated DMCA takedown 
notices (although the main opinion declined to rule on automated notices in the decision since Universal was relying on 
an intern to issue takedown notices at the time of the original DMCA action).

Hopefully, Lenz is something that will in the long-run reduce the amount of DMCA takedown notices that get generated 
across the board.

2014-2015 academic year - 484 infringements


2015-2016 year-to-date - 57 infringements so far
* There were 104 infringements at this same point last year.

And we automate the process to notify our students/staff and process offenses as well.

A question has come up about DMCA notices in our outside audit.  We know how many we received in the last fiscal year 
but the auditors are wondering about how many other institutions of higher education are receiving on an annual basis.
