Our University has been using a product called Point and Click Solutions. There are a few others like Medicat, Neusoft, PracticeFusion, eClinicWorks, Allscripts. Start with some searching for "EHR college health" and you'll see links to their websites. All of these solutions will provide some way or other to begin documenting clinic notes, orders, and other associated clinical documentation all electronically. You'll need to choose something that fits your organization best. All will also help with HIPAA compliance, but most of the compliance will come from your organization's policies, procedures, training, and most importantly, staff operations. -- Kevin McCrone, Information Technology Technical Associate -- Illinois State University, Division of Student Affairs -- (309) 438-1111 From: The EDUCAUSE Security Constituent Group Listserv [mailto:SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU] On Behalf Of SCHALIP, MICHAEL Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 8:37 AM To: SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU Subject: [SECURITY] Recommendation Needed - Software packages for tracking/securing patient records Hi Folks.... Along the same lines of "health centers" - our Student Health Center is still on paper records and has been told that they need to move to "electronic records management". We have a student body of ~30,000, with a total of ~50,000 active student health records at any given point in time. It's a very small clinical setting with only 2-3 health providers, but the data clearly falls under HIPAA. We know we need to get them off "paper", but neither we, nor they, are sure what software packages they should be looking at. Any thoughts or opinions would be welcome.....
