SANS, EDUCAUSE and REN-ISAC are working on bring the SANS NetWars[1] program to the EDUCAUSE Security Professional
Conference (Indianapolis, May 15-17, 2012). The tentative plan is to enable continuous play for the months leading up
to the conference and then have a tournament during the conference. This would give people a chance to practice their
hacking skills before pitting those skills against others in the education community. NetWars is an interactive
environment for computer attacks and analyzing defenses. It is split into 5 different skill levels; a written skills
assessment is provided at the end of play so participants will understand which skills need improvement. If we get
enough interest, it would $700 for the continuous play. Participation in the tournament would be included if you
attend the Security Professional Conference. If you would like to participate in the tournament and will not be
attending the conference in person, there would be an additional cost, which has not been determined yet.

Join us for a free web cast on the NetWars program, presented by Ed Skoudis, the brains behind the SANS NetWars program.
