Guess I'm one of the real old timer curmudgeons then; I've been using
emacs/vm for mail reading since 1991 and see no reason to quit.  :)

(Thunderbird and newer GUI-oriented clients *still* can't do what I do
via my ~/.emacs and ~/.vm files: colour-code mail folders based on
regular expressions).
