Do any of you have experience with using Vyatta routers? I'm looking into using one for a special project, but I'd like to hear from others who may have used them before. If you have, please comment on the following: What is your overall impression of the product?
Hi Kevin, I didn't see any replies, but I'd be interested if you got anything of substance off list. I've only briefly looked at using their software, since they do make available their distribution. It looks like its based off zebra, maybe quagga, but I don't know the extent of what they've done development wise. I've only briefly brought their 6.0 alpha code on a VM to take a look at. I think I had problems with their 5.0 code in a VM, but that could have just been me.
Did you have any need to work with their support team? If so, how was that experience? Was the performance and ease of use satisfactory?
You might also take a look at Quagga/Zebra, BIRD and OpenBGPD. John
