The Federal Trade Commission announced today (http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/10/redflags.shtm) that it will suspend enforcement of the Identity Theft Red Flags Rule and Notice of Address Discrepancy Rule until May 1, 2009. The announcement came during today's EDUCAUSE Live! Extra Edition. An archive of today's webcast and more information regarding these rules are available at http://connect.educause.edu/term_view/ID+Theft+Red+Flags EDUCAUSE plans to work with our partner associations to continue to address the many questions of educational institutions and will facilitate the sharing of policies, practices, and other resources. We expect to hold a BoF on the topic during the annual conference in Orlando next week. Please let us know if you have any questions.
