Northwestern University is actively engaged in an effort to address the activities required by the changes to Federal Rules of Civil Procedure concerning discovery of electronically stored information (ESI); this effort is widely known as E-Discovery. Given the magnitude of the effort to address a highly distributed and heterogeneous environment, we are considering the engagement of outside consultants to assist in conducting a data inventory and develop the necessary internal processes to address data managament (e.g., identification of data, data harvesting, data preservation, etc.). If you have experience with consultants in these specific areas, could you share information about that experience and possibly provide any recommendations? I'm most interested in the solutions that were offered by the consultants, the activities they were engaged in and performed, and estimates of costs (if you are allowed to share that information). Any information you can provide is appreciated. Thank you. - Dave David (Dave) Kovarik, Director, CISSP, CISM Northwestern University - Information Technology Information & Systems Security/Compliance Office: (847) 467-5930 E-mail: david-kovarik () northwestern edu 1800 Sherman Avenue Suite 209, Room 230 Evanston, IL 60201
