We are pleased to announce the availability of a limited number of
scholarships to attend the EDUCAUSE & Internet2 Security Professionals
Conference (www.educause.edu/sec05) in Washington, D.C., April 3-5,
2005. The scholarships, supported by the National Cyber Security
Alliance (www.StaySafeOnline.info), will cover conference
registration, 3 nights of hotel expenses, and an optional pre- or
post-conference seminar registration. Expenses associated with travel
to Washington, D.C., meals not included as part of the conference
program, and other incidental expenses will be the responsibility of
the scholarship recipient. To qualify, the recipient must be an
employee with responsibilities for cybersecurity at a small college
(5,000 students or less), community college, or a minority serving
institution.

To be considered for a scholarship, individuals must submit a proposal
that includes a brief (500 words or less) essay that describes why
your institution would benefit from your participation in the Security
Professionals Conference. The proposals will be judged based on the
level of need for financial assistance, cybersecurity needs of your
institution, and projected impact to be realized as a result of your
attendance at the conference. If you are interested in attending a
pre- or post-conference seminar, please indicate your preferences in
the proposal.

Please submit your proposal to Security-Task-Force () educause edu by
Monday, March 7th. Applicants will be notified on Wednesday, March
9th, of the status of their application.

If you are selected, you will be expected to produce a brief report
following the conference that describes your experiences and learnings
which will be shared with members of the EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Computer
and Network Security Task Force and the Board of the National Cyber
Security Alliance.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
