I would like to build on questions 1 and 6 a little by asking those of
you who answer "yes" to state what product(s) you're using and/or
whether you're growing your own. My answers appear below.

Thanks,

1. Does your institution require student users to register their
computers before gaining network access?

No (planning for Fall 2004 but no product or process chosen yet)

2. Does your institution require student users to connect to a domain
if Windows is used?

No

3. Does your institution require a specific version of Windows for
network access and support?

No. Our residence halls support their own and we do not impose OS
standards on them.

4. Does your institution provide student users with Anti-Virus
software
and updates for that software?

Yes; Network Associates VirusScan and Virex.

5. Does your institution provide student users with Operating System
updates?

No. SUS is available but not widely used. Looking at WUS.

6. Does your institution use a dynamic network registration system to
allow users to connect to the network?

No (planning for ?)
