Well first of all if you use VLAN tags you will not get hacked. The
VMware Kernel itself it is secure enough. As for the cluster... how
can they hack a cluster service ??? I do not get it.

In general, I am using it for my internal and DMZ servers and I have
no problems with security at all. The only security issues you will be
facing is your application and operating system security which are
running on the virtual machines. Avoid using VLAN1, that is the only
tip I can give you.
