Hi,

something really effective  for the encryption is is gnupg, but in you message 
you didn't explain for  which platform you need the tool to encrypt email and 
files. Well well gnupg can run on windows, linux/unix  and mac.

I can advise this frontend that I use in the company for the daily tasks.
