Depending on what operating systems you are running in the AD a good
place to start for heavy security would be

The NSA puts out security guidelines for various operating systems, in
every thing from operating systems to voip. Another good resource
would be the center for Internet security,  http://www.cisecurity.com
CIS benchmarks. The Benchmarks are widely accepted by U.S. government
agencies for FISMA compliance, and by auditors for compliance with the
ISO standard as well as GLB, SOx, HIPAA, FIRPA and other the
regulatory requirements for information security.

*note* don't use them blindly, but they are good guideline's.
