Hey Daryl,

Ok here's what to do, if you've got a Linux laptop lying around install Kismet on it, and then go for a walk, you should be able to locate the AP and get SSID without any problems. As soon as the signal strength shows really high, you'll be very close to the AP, so just start looking around that general vicinity, and you should find it. If you've got a Mac laptop lying around you can use Kismac to do the same.

If you cant find the AP, you should at least be able to find out what channel it's on, and what the SSID is, if that's the case, a crude option would be to set up another AP on the same channel with a really high gain Antenna attached to it. This would pretty much disable the other AP, you could even set the SSID the same if you wanted to.

Depending how much of a worry this is to you, you could always buy the Airmagnet software suite, and that would lead you right to it if you want to spend money that is, it's really good s/w, but I have no idea how much it costs, my co paid for it.

I'd start with loading up Kismit/Kismac though, and go for a walk though, it should be quite easy to pinpoint roughly where it is that way, and then just have a really good look around. If you're in the UK, depending where you are I'd be willing to help out if you want? If not, if you've got any other questions gimme a shout either on or off this list.

Does anyone know how to find the hidden SSID and then Jam it?

Thank you.
