Ftp backup is not secure at all, if you can use rsync
It uses ssh, and it can use the key-gen concept to automate the login

You might consider using cygwin (http://www.cygwin.com/) to help you
write some scripts in shell code, or download Perl binaries for
Windows
(http://www.northbound-train.com/perlwin32.html) and use Perl.
