If this is part of a forensics class, the odds are you're supposed to learn the following lessons: 1) It's encrypted, you can't crack it 2) Unless you use forensics to find or guess the encryption key There are several great encryption programs (I use GPG myself), but there aren't any cracking programs for them because this is basically a futile attempt at this level of the game. The best you can hope to do is brute force the key. If you want to try some sample codebreaking software (for non-modern cryptography), google for "Code Breaker's Workbench". I'm taking a forensics class and we are learning encryption techniques and possible cracking techniques. We were tasked to encrypt a file then we will trade file and try to hack each others. Does anyone know of some good freeware/opensource/trial cracking and/or encryption utilities.... PGP, Blowfish, DES5 etc. Thanks Jason
