Hi! I would recommend you the "Handbook of applied cryptography".It is considered as an encyclopedia of cryptography and it's for free! During my MSc it helped me a lot with the crytpography course. http://www.cacr.math.uwaterloo.ca/hac/ John -----Original Message----- From: Graydon McKee [mailto:graydon.s.mckee.iv () ORCMacro com] Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2004 8:12 PM To: security-basics () lists securityfocus com Subject: Crypto Book Recommendations? Does anyone have any good recommendations for books on Cryptography especially geared towards beginners? I have a few titles in mind already, I just don't want to leave out any good one's if I can help it. Murad, et al... Your best investment comes from New Riders publishing. They have a series of books focused on security mostly from and or by/overseen Stephen Northcutt. Network Intrusion Detection will teach you all about reading "the wire". Intrusion Signatures and Analysis will help you learn more and Network Perimeter Security is a good primer... Lots of luck.
