hello,

I have redhat machines distributed in various sites.
I wish to update these machines automatically, however I don't want to
open these boxes internet access to rhn up2date.

is there a solution to deploy these packages to all boxes ?

What's wrong with '/sbin/up2date --update' ?
As someone already mentioned Apt-get is a popular solution although starting
on RedHats next release they'll have an application called yum
http://ayo.freshrpms.net/ . Which is basically apt made for RPM's
not just a 'hack'. It's already availible for Redhat 7.3, 8 or 9 and
has an option to run from init to check nightly updates which seems
to fit your problem.

thank you,
