Zach,

Yes there are several Halon (which is not environmentally friendly) and
newer chemical solutions (FM200 etc.). 

I think if you google Halon or FM200 you will find them.

Security includes maintaining availability, right? So I guess that includes
preventing and recovering from disasters. Can anyone suggest a good resource
