When you are attacked, can you stop it by filtering out the attacker's IP address/range? If you can then it's not so bad. It's easier to track the attacker down and also defeat the attack, compared to some other DOS attacks. I find it interesting that Redhat 7.0 is said to be not affected whereas Redhat 6.1 is. Why is that the case? Is it a configuration issue on 6.1? Cheerio, Link.
