There is a 12 page PDF file on the Documentation page that explains how
to do *exactly* what you are doing.  I just used it to install
snort/mysql/acid on a FreeBSD 4.7 box.  It worked perfectly.

Download that document, print it out, and follow it closely.  Your
problems will be solved.
