Are you just bored with 2000? Setting up Snort with all the bells and
whistles is a snap on Windows. Were not talking secure at this point but
give it a couple more snaps and your there. 

There are some issues that have been brought up using RH8, just do a
search in the mailing list.

If you are boarded and just want to try something new, why not Lindows?
Hey, Seven minutes total to install. It looks great.
