These are some good points that you raise. I did a little bit of searching for professional associations that might provide unbiased information to organizations
ISECOM is a NPO that provides a list of companies that are ISECOM Licensed Auditors (ILAs). They sign a contract for commitment to the OSSTMM Rules of Engagement and need to have a certain number of certified people on the staff which is quality controlled by ISECOM and partners.
