Agreed. I don't believe the location of the points on the graph are representative of direction compared to the phone. I believe it is based on signal strength only and those points just move closer to the center. It's been a while since I've used this though and don't currently have it available to test. It can't. The display only looks good and cannot actually provide direction. I believe you're thinking ofWiFiFoFum and it can only be installed on jailbroken devices. Here is a screenshot:http://images.macworld.com/images/reviews/graphics/139268-wififofum_original.jpg Ye that looks like it. How can it do that from a single device? I hate to sayit, but Ithink you are correct on the iPhone side, mostly due to the factthatthe wireless drivers are "less than open". To my knowledge, monitor modesupport does not exist on non-jailbroken iDevices (I'm not sureaboutjailbroken ones). My solution? Go Android. I picked up a Nexus 7 and use thefollowingtools frequently: Kisbee - Zigbee sniffer (for use with 3rd party hardware) Pcap Capture - Monitor mode WiFi capture with a specific ALFAwirelesscard and OTG cable WiFiFoFum - Rogue AP locator WiFi Analyzer - Kismet-like wireless discovery WiGLE WiFi Wardriving - Kismet-like wireless discovery Cloudshark - Cloud based wireshark for analyzing pcaps Hope that helps. - L On 5/30/13 9:58 AM, Brian Wilhide wrote:I am curious if anyone has found any good apps for mobiledevices forwifi testing?
