Hi there

Just wanted to ask if this is a bug or not..
I am using nmap on windows.
When I use the -d flag with any options (for example -F) in nmap it
gives the verbose and debugging information as it should.
When I use -dd , all the debugging and verbose information gets
suppressed except the --reason output..
So I wanted to share my experience with u. Is it a bug??

Vivek,

This isn't a bug but I can see how it would seem like one. -v turns on
verbosity and you can use it as many times as you would like either of
the form -v -v -v or -vvv.

- -d though takes an optional debugging level argument.

If you want to use "double debugging" you can either do -d -d or -d2

I think this makes sense. Nmap doesn't really have a lot of verbosity
levels and generally -vvv makes more sense and is more standard than -v3

For debugging though, Nmap has 9 levels and sometimes you really do
want to do -d9. It would be awkward to do -dddddd....

We could probably make the argument parsing for -d handle either
integers or strings of "d". Probably not very high on the priority
list though.
