Well while I'm adding more work without contributing code, here goes
another idea:

I'd really like to see SNMP library support.  For static OIDs one can
just replay the same SNMP GET byte pattern.  For dynamic queries though
the ASN.1 encoding (how you encode a OID in SNMP) is too complicated to
easily implement in a simple script.

SNMP MIB-II has a million useful things scripts could query; of which,
the most popular would probably be the host's MAC address.

There is a LuaSNMP project [1] to add SNMP functionality.  I've tried
to integrate this into Nmap but I haven't been able to solve some of
the compile and link time dependencies.  I'm sure with more work
someone could figure it all out.

Between Nmap's port scanning, Eddie's traceroute, and Diman's NSE Nmap
really could become a true network _mapper_.
