Hi mate, just had a quick look at Verizon.. They appear to be quite anit-spam, which suprises me considering the response you have received.... Try this.. Verizon Security Control Center (SCC) P.O. Box 152092 MC -- HQD03A78 Irving, TX 75015-2092 Fax: 972-615-4310 Also this is a statement from there website, you could try the number below aswell... Unsolicited E-Mail (Spam) For information on Verizon's no-tolerance policy for unsolicited e-mail (spam), click here. In addition, check out this site for information on what you can do to control the volume of spam you receive. To talk with a technical support representative, call toll-free 1-800-567-6789. I have blocked them, that's not the problem. The bigger issue is that Verizon refuses to take action or even let me talk to anybody in the security department... their support department claims to not even have a phone number to reach anybody in security. I have the resources in place to prevent the attacks, I'm just tired of seeing the same spammer show up with a count of 5,000 attempts every single day. I have had similar incidents with other major providers such as SBC, at least they're eventually responsive. But Verizon refuses to cooperate. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael T Pins" <mtpins () nndev org> To: <incidents () securityfocus com> Sent: Thursday, July 07, 2005 6:29 PM Subject: Re: Constant spam from Verizon.net

the
only recourse.Define "a specific e-mail address linked to several Verizon DSL IP addresses." If all the email is originating from just a few DSL IP addresses, just add those IPs to your access list (assuming you're running sendmail). If not, you'll need to be rather more specific as to what's going on. Yes, this is a bandage on the symptom rather than a solution to the real problem, but until you can convince someone at Verizon to cut those IPs off, it will at least stop the spam. -- Michael T Pins | "Major combat operations have ended." mtpins () nndev org | - George W.
