Word Virus?

Has anyone heard of or seen a virus that truncates word and excel documents to zero bytes? It appears that when a document has been modified, when the user goes back into it at a later date, the file is empty and is allocated zero bytes. There doesn't appear to be a pattern and it is only affecting a few users. The confusing part.... the users have been instructed to save the document on their local and network drives... the files are saved correctly on the local drive, but not on the network. To no avail, we've contacted virus vendors and have scanned network and PC drives with different anti-virus software. Any information/knowledge would be greatly appreciated as we're starting to look at our hardware. Thanks, Joseph
