No, because he's not calling you names, lumping you in with a greater evil, etc. That's a liberal, knee-jerk, emotional response. Its the kind of thing that caused Japanese citizens to be interned in the US.

Save us from what? And I was referring to OUR *collective* vietnam experience, here, at home.
No, there are a new class of thinking beings that deny reality with a fervor that is beyond extreme idiocy. If you point out to them unpleasant facts about this country, they turn around and say "but look at those people over there, they are even worse". If you bring up those same unpleasant facts again, they clamber away, denying reality in the dim hopes that their overlords will turn out to be kind masters.
I guess it depends on who your favorite master is, doesn't it? I mean, if one was to start belittling Clinton would you have the same view - or was Clinton a "better" massa? Sorry, but I can't help but think most of these arguments are not about the subject but about political affiliation. Perhaps spoiled grapes for having lost the election, or having the election "stolen". Besides that, perhaps he just doesn't feel the need to continually bash his country, I certainly don't. I know where my country has its problems - most everyone does - but its not productive to simply bash it and go on. Further, until enough of the populace has had enough, nothing will change. Your calling him names is not going to convince him of anything, but it will harden his views against your ideas. Regardless of what you think of him, he's old enough to vote, and thereby cancel yours out. He's also a member of that masses that must eventually get fed up.
You are either a contrairian, troll, or a twisted soul. Jury is still out on that one, as your opinions are as varied as the days. Some(very recent)times I even agree with you
I simply have opinions based on my own beliefs, morals and observations. I know that's "weird" these days, but I'm old school. I don't believe in the two-party system when it comes to politics, and I often find myself repulsed by political bible thumpers more than the idiots knocking on my door, handing out the "truth". You can call me whatever you like - you're not going to convince me of anything that way and you sure as hell ain't gonna hurt my feelin's. You're a nobody, same as me. If you want to know where I stand on a particular issue, ask. Don't hold me to it though - I've never considered myself to be all-knowing and I can have my mind changed when provided the right argument. I can be reasoned with. I'm open to learn something on any subject at every turn. I can't be a contrarian, however, because I don't take a view simply because of its popularity - or lack there of. I'm not a troll - well, I don't think I am, but I'm not sure what a troll is in this context. As for twisted soul, there's little doubt, but its irrelevant.
