We have a relatively new policy which allows retirees to keep email via
our Webmail access indefinitely, no network access. We also have a 1
week allowance for staff or faculty who have resigned (but I do not like
that part of the policy):

Retirees at Texas State can keep their email accounts, per an initiative
by the University's association of retired faculty and staff. The
association works with HR and the University Advancement organization to
encourage retirees to remain engaged with the University.

Retirees remain subject to the university's appropriate use policy and
the accounts (like all accounts) are automatically deactivated if
unused for a period of time. Retirees are not to share their accounts
with spouses, etc., but that is difficult to police and you will need to
set clear boundaries up front as to what happens upon the retiree's
death, how you find that out, and who is responsible for initiating the
deprovisioning action.

Hi All,

Do any of your schools allow separated (Retirement, resigned, etc.)
employees to retain their email accounts? Do you have any policies you
could share either way?
