We use Postini and do not experience any noticeable log for incoming email delivery. -- Kevin Kelly Director, Network Technology Whitman College ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Stanclift" <michael.stanclift () ROCKHURST EDU> To: SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU Sent: Friday, January 29, 2010 8:41:02 AM Subject: Re: [SECURITY] Email Spam (inbound and outbound) and Malware Protection Right now we’re doing both outsourced spam protection through one of our ISP providers (Morenet) but we find the service to be VERY slow at delivering messages (like, hours) and are looking at another solution. We also use a Barracuda appliance that we’ve been fairly happy with, but it’s far beyond it’s expected life in terms of the appliance. My boss wants to evaluate the IronPort appliance, and I’m also interested in Postini, but I’m concerned about the lag in mail delivery with that service, since our previous experience with anything like it has not been good. Any feedback is appreciated. Patrick J. Feehan JD, CIPP Director of IT Privacy & Cybersecurity Compliance Montgomery College (240) 567-3087 patrick.feehan () montgomerycollege edu
