Jeremy,

Keystone College uses it. The product is impressive, both in
functionality and efficiency. Competitor products that we looked at
prior to selecting Lanschool were the worst kind of bloatware,
installing many megs of stuff on the system and taking up gobs of RAM.
Lanschool makes heavy use of built-in API functionality that Windows
already has, and I think the first version that we looked at fit on a
single floppy disk!

Instructors love the product. I would strongly suggest that you at
least consider it. If you're still on the fence, call and talk to Dana,
their president and chief programmer. He's impressive, too...

Good luck!

Subject: [SECURITY] LanSchool Monitoring Software

Is anyone aware of any issues WRT security of the LanSchool[1] software
product?

"LanSchool creates a computer lab where teaching and learning can really
take place. LanSchool gives Teachers control of the environment by
taking away distractions, demonstrate skills and monitor student
activity."

LanSchool is an application with an "agent" that is installed on
"student" PCs. Another agent, the "teacher" component is installed on
the workstations of professors, etc. and allows them to perform various
interactions with the student PCs, such as blanking the screens (to
prevent students from using the PCs), remotely viewing a students
screen, etc.

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has used or deployed this
product.

Thanks,
-j
