Shame on anyone who doesn't suggest to reinstall a compromised system.

Even if you managed to pinpoint exactly how the system was compromised
and what was altered after the compromisation (and I'm really curious
about how you'd do that without having a baseline of the system to
compare agains), it would usually take *far* more time and effort than
rebuilding the system.
