They are not really applications, they are more like placeholder icons
that if you click on then install the applications.  There isn't much
you can do to get rid of them aside from hide the icons from the main
screen.

I had 2 applications just "appear" on my phone. Facebook and Blackberry App World. As per Verizon rep, they said that 
the applications can be removed using Desktop Manager which I tried but does not list those applications. After much 
Google researching, I found that these are part of "Service Book" which can deleted from but after next restart or 
about an hour later...the applications are again pushed and installed.

As I stated to Verizon rep, I think that installing applications (pushing) to your phone without your consent is a 
problem. If there are updates to your phone, you at least have the option to install or not. But just pushing 
applications to your phone without you agreeing or not have the ability to remove them is very concerning.
