Not sure if anyone has recommend this or not, but... "Applied Cryptography" was *required* reading for me in the Masters Program at Depaul University in Computer Science. If I had to endorse such a book or product, even though it may be a tad bit outdated, it is still (nonetheless) worthwhile reading. Cheers!
