GOT IT! It was me ... sort of.

Short story long: a long time ago I started using my Dad's hometown
as the basis for the name of a little company I have, one I've never incorporated, nor setup a bank accounts for, or anything. I don't even have a MORAL right to claim this <ahem> domain.

But I guess netidentity.com doesn't have any MORE right to it, or any less either. But they did claim it, and apparently they started using it several days ago.

Months ago at the house, I setup two computers AS IF they were at a company and since they weren't going to be used publicly, I just threw this unused domain into the IP setup. The first computer is long gone. I forgot, and never pulled it out of the 2nd, my home WinXP box.

I removed it, and it all works normally. I guess I have to publicly declare myself to be an idiot here and thank everyone for their patience.

I'd apologize to netidentity, but they don't care. Do a search on mailbank.com and you'll see how many other folks have been in the EXACT same situation that I was, only without resolution. Chris's TinyURL link got me thinking -- rather than search google's groups for netidentity, let's try mailbank. Folks back as far as 1997 have been having this issue with that company.

Thanks again list.

Jeff
