Hi, It's not really what you are looking for but, it makes it harder to get on your wireless network. Try fake-ap www.blackalchemy.to/Projects/fakeap/fake-ap.html it simulates 1000+ AP's so it's hard to find the real one Oscar Kooijman Secure-IT oscar[DOT]kooijman[AT]chello[DOT]nl -----Original Message----- From: Brian Austin [mailto:baustin () ableinc com] Sent: 23 September 2003 21:43 To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: RE: wireless help Look into 802.1x authentication via RADIUS and your current directory tree (if any). A lot of newer AP's support this level of authentication for the reasons you've stated.

Thank you for all the help. What I'm really looking for is a way to track people that connect to an unsecured wireless network. I know that DHCP can be used to track them, but what if they figure out what IP range is being used and then use a static IP to connect to the network. ~ How can one detect these stations? I am aware and appreciate all the advice on securing the network, but I'm just trying to do this for an experiment.
