In-Reply-To: <311985A08E8BD211A6FB0000832F4E1E04EFA31A@SRVNTEXC> Hi Chris, Yes that is pretty much exactly what we need to do. We have an app that shows the status of jobs that take very long to complete. We want people to be able to see the status of jobs but do not want them to be able to terminate them (or do anything else for that matter) This seems to be an easy solution. Can you think of any others? Thanks for your feedback. Cathy
Just out of curiousity, what makes this software particularly interesting for you? Do you want to lock the servers with the event log or task manager
showing,
and let people who are not allowed to 'touch' the servers monitor the logs and load, or what? badenIT GmbH System Support Chris Meidinger Tullastrasse 70 79108 Freiburg -----Original Message----- From: Cathy Milan [mailto:cathymilan () excite com] Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2003 1:37 AM To: security-basics () securityfocus com Subject: Transparent Screen Lock for Win NT/2000/XP We have been testing the Transparent Screen Lock http://www.e-motional.com/TScreenLock.htm It basically allows you to prevent access to a Windows server but allows the display to be visible. Before going ahead with a large scale installation I was wonderingif any of you guys have had any experience with it (Both good orbad) that may affect our decision. --------------------------------------------------------------------------
