Perhaps a logon banner informing the users that by using the systems, they consent to monitoring. Then there would be no need for additional paperwork. 2 more cents Jimbo ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark Ng" <aliasklap () markng co uk> To: "H Carvey" <keydet89 () yahoo com>; <security-basics () securityfocus com> Sent: Sunday, April 13, 2003 3:42 AM Subject: Re: Spy Software

By extension, then, the company (ie, your boss) has the right to know what's going on on their systems.Whilst this is the case, it should be borne in mind that if employees are being spied on, it is certainly morally the case that employees should be aware, and perhaps in some places, legally the case. Anything like this should probably be in the employees contract. If this is really the case, then the need for *covert* spying software is negated, due to the fact that the employee will know that the software is there anyway. Just my 2 cents.
