I'd suggest just a simple switch. As the win2k FTP service is inherently insecure, I have never used it, but working primarily with security, I have found the perfect combination is WARFTPD (free) and CuteFTP as the client (or command line works great if no money need be spent).. Hope this helps David DeMoney Senior Systems / Security Engineer Industrial Information Systems Dallas, Texas -----Original Message----- From: D. We have recently implemented a SmoothWall firewall in front of our Win 2000 ftp servers and are experiencing problems with ftp clients accessing the ftp site from behind NAT'd firewalls. I have found instructions that suggest using an ftp server that allows the passive port configured to 2121, which of course you cannot do with Win2K ftp. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. D. Farris
