Try AdAware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/aaw.html) if you're on a windows platform. Most importantly though, watch what you, or your users install. it usually just takes a google search on the programme. Try googling for "gator", which is a fairly well known spyware programme, and you'll find after the first half-dozen links or so, people ranting about it's spyware functions. Spyware rarely spreads like viruses, it usually is installed, and it usually declares itself somewhere in the EULA that nobody reads. So you should be relatively safe if you keep track of what software is on your system. On Fri, 2002-12-06 at 17:48, Carere, Courtney wrote:

Spyware seems to be defined as software that logs keystrokes, screenshots, user actions, etc. I have a couple of questions: 1. What's the distinction between spyware, adware, and trojan software? (My antivirus software says it protects against Trojans, and I've seen programs like SubSeven in its log files.) 2. Is there any good software that detects and removes spyware, ideally controlled and updated continuously from a central server?
