On a different note: I sometimes think that it might be good to have a separate entry under Edit ! for the protocol prefs; i.e., Edit ! Protocol Preferences More often than not I want to change a protocol pref and it's just a bit annoying to have to downarrow thru all the other prefs first to get to the protocol prefs. It the protocol prefs are a separate entry under Edit ! then I think the protocol prefs should then always just start out as expanded.
I usually right-click on a protocol tree item any time I need to change a protocol preference. It's a lot easier than going through the protocol preference tree. Some applications provide a search box in their preference windows which lets you find preference using a free-form text search. I've added something similar to the "Advanced" preference pane in the Qt port but I'm thinking of moving it to the main preference window. ___________________________________________________________________________ Sent via: Wireshark-dev mailing list <wireshark-dev () wireshark org> Archives: http://www.wireshark.org/lists/wireshark-dev Unsubscribe: https://wireshark.org/mailman/options/wireshark-dev mailto:wireshark-dev-request () wireshark org?subject=unsubscribe
