Quoting Kayne Ian (Softlab) (Ian.Kayne () softlab co uk):

Just wondering if anyone else has any thoughts/opinions on this ...
Is it even any use or worth looking into?

With Linux you can mount a vfat filesystem with some special options
to allow non-vfat-standard characters in filenames and other nasty
cruft.

I don't think you can do anything with this, other than trashing up
someones filesystem. Maybe you can "hide" files because Windows refuses
to show them (as you noticed with your Amiga CD). But the file would probably
still turn up in the 'Total Size' information when compared to the shown
files.

Just my $0.02

Sander.
