paul.bobby> Is it possible to spoof this address also? Would someone paul.bobby> have to write a custom ethernet driver? on a number of operating systems, ifconfig allows one to modify the mac address of a network interface. there also used to be various utilities out there that achieved the same goal -- i imagine they would be available via places such as packetstorm. as an example, under linux, as root: ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:aa:23:ce:3a:11 changes the mac address of eth0 to 00:aa:23:ce:3a:11, iirc. see the man page for ifconfig ;-) p.s. anyone know of a utility for choosing and configuring a random mac address for an interface? it should be pretty easy to write, but if there is already one out there, it'd be nice to know.
