Thanks for the detailed explanation. I'm going to update 
sf_next_packet() and submit the appropiated patch. I plan to keep the fix to  
usb_platform_finddevs() [it remove an uncessary dependency to debugfs been mounted] and to keep memory mapped access 
enabled.

BTW, why the work of Phil Wood on memory mapped ethernet sniffing has not been merged into 'official' libpcap ?!? it 
seams some people will appreciate that...
