Guy,

I am aware of the -C flag, but
I need to limit the space used by the logs.
I would like to have an option which would
tell tcpdump how many recent files to keep.

What do you mean by "log rotation capability"?

If you mean "switch to a new log file when the log file gets to a
certain size", it's trivial to add that, as you don't have to change any
code - the current tcpdump already implements that with the "-C" flag.
