Source code of snort

[Tanjim Dipon via Snort-users <snort-users () lists snort org>]

I am currently using snort 2.9.13.0 and I want to apply an algorithm for
pattern matching to analyze the changed performance. But I have no idea
about the source code files or what are the functions of those files. Can
anyone help me about how I can start or from which file I should start
understanding the source code of snort?
