I think pfsense block your update trafic, check your log.
Try disable pf, pfctl -d

I had to reset pfsense and when I set up Snort again the oink code would not work. I regenerated an oink code and that 
one would not work, either. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to get the list I paid for downloaded.
