How to check the latest XXS attacks from the latest SNORT signatures

I have installed SNORT on ubuntu. Now my concerns are the signatures and the rules. I have been requested to check the 
latest XSS attacks? how can this be achieved?
how to check if your snort is correctly capable of detecting such xxs attacks.
