it would appear that you are somehow starting snort using a script of the name 
snort... that script is not proper for your ubuntu installation... the complaint 
about not finding the functions is specific to the script you are inadvertently 
using... try starting snort by specifying the proper path to it...

   eg: /usr/bin/snort -c blah/blah
